Here a concrete ring beam is being installed deep in a forest on a mountaintop in Mpumalanga to accommodate a 700,000 litre water tank – 4,6m high x 13,8m wide.

Smaller volume Rainbow tanks (˂400kl) require no concrete base and are installed directly onto a patch of levelled ground. The steel tank walls of larger tanks rest only upon a simple ring beam, as opposed to a concrete slab as a base – a huge cost saver!
