Aluzinc® is a hot dip coating added to a steel substrate, its two metallic constituents create a corrosion resistance barrier effect – the aluminium present on the surface of the coating combined with the sacrificial protection of zinc. The 55% aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon double-sided coating is applied in a continuous galvanising process this creates the attractive characteristic spangled silver finish, a thin layer of aluminium oxide which forms on the top surface preserves the appearance for many years.
