Aluminium Barrier: The aluminium components form a tough layer of aluminium oxide on the surface. This acts as a physical shield against the elements, preventing the underlying steel from being exposed to oxygen and moisture.
Zinc Sacrificial Protection: In instances where the steel is scratched or cut, the zinc provides “sacrificial” protection. It corrodes in place of the steel, effectively “healing” the wound and preventing the spread of rust.
